The Neue Philharmonie Hamburg was founded in 2001 by freelance professional musicians from around the world.
Since then, the orchestra has established and maintained a leading position in the northern German music scene.
It sees itself as a dynamically expandable orchestra, ranging from smaller ensembles for chamber orchestra to a large symphony orchestra with choir.
However, the centerpiece has always remained the chamber orchestra, which has hardly changed since its founding and is very well attuned to each other.
With numerous guest appearances in Spain, France, Italy, and South Korea, it has gained a large circle of friends among the audience.
The musical direction is taken by the concertmaster of the orchestra, Tigran Mikaelyan.
