From the Saarstein to the Würtzberg. A hike with Jörg Meier through the vineyards of Serrig, the "gateway to Saar wine". From the Saarstein to the Würtzberg. A hike with Jörg Meier through the vineyards of Serrig, the ‘gateway to Saar wine’.
The tour begins with the ascent to Saarstein Castle. We then hike through its vineyards to Saarfels Castle. You are sure to enjoy the beautiful architecture of the two Serrig castles and the wine-growing domain. Look forward to an interesting and varied wine hike through five vineyards classified as ‘VDP. Große Lage’ classified vineyards. After crossing the headland above the village, we reach the impressive monopole vineyards of the Würtzberg estate: Herrenberg and Würtzberg. These are located directly above the largest barrage in Germany and from there we enjoy a spectacular view of the Saar loop near Hamm. On the way, we will taste the wines of the vineyards we are looking at or where we are from different winegrowers at selected locations.
