Wine hike - In vino Saartias

From Saarstein to Würtzberg. A hike through the vineyards of Serrig, the “Gateway to Saar Wine”.

The tour begins with the ascent to Saarstein Castle. We then hike through its vineyards to Saarfels Castle. You will surely enjoy the beautiful architecture of the two Serrig castles as well as the wine growing domain. Look forward to an interesting and varied wine hike through five vineyards classified as “VDP. Great Location.” After crossing the land bridge above the village, we reach the impressive monopole vineyards of the Würtzberg winery: Herrenberg and Würtzberg. These are located just above the largest dam in Germany, and from there we enjoy a spectacular view of the Saarschleife near Hamm. Along the way, we will taste wines from various winemakers at selected spots that overlook the vineyards we are in or looking at.

Meeting point: 10:45 a.m. Parking lot in front of the tunnel opposite Main Street 22.
Trail length: 6.5 km.
Duration: 4 hours.
