Riesling pushed to the top. This guided wine hike is all about the NONPLUSULTRA that the Saar has to offer.
Riesling taken to the next level. In this hike, we dedicate ourselves to the NONPLUSULTRA that the Saar has to offer.
We hike from the train station in Wiltingen to the most famous vineyard of the Saar: the Scharzhofberg.
What makes a Grosse Lage such and who determines this? How many Grosse Lagen can the Saar call its own and can you taste the difference?
After we have climbed the middle path of the Scharzhofberg, we will be rewarded with fantastic views of several unique Grosse Lagen: Ayler Kupp, Schodener Feils, Kanzemer Altenberg & Wiltinger Kupp.
Look forward to a special tour following in the footsteps of the wines that reflect their origin so uniquely: it is the soils, the light and shade, the wind, the heat or coolness that make the wines extraordinary, giving them personality and character. The classification is based on a clear philosophy: the closer the origin, the higher the quality.
Meeting point: 10:45 AM at Wiltingen train station
Trail length: 7.0 km.
Services & Prices: 65.00 € per person for guided hike, tasting of 1 sparkling wine & 5 Grosse Lage wines, sparkling water, regional winemaker snack.
