Winningen steep slope festival

The Steillagen Festival will take place this year in the Wine Education Trail in Winningen!

Becoming more popular year by year, the hiking festival sees thousands of guests moving from stand to stand while enjoying the magnificent views of the wine terraces and the Mosel. Winemakers and restaurateurs from Winningen offer their finest wines and culinary delights. Enjoying wine in the terraces is something truly special.

Amidst the impressive terrace landscape of the Winningen vineyards, winemakers and hosts provide selected delicacies from kitchen and cellar. Where the winemakers work year-round in the vineyards, visitors can enjoy a leisurely hike along the steep hiking path to taste specialties from individual winemakers.
Above the path, the rocky terraces rise up and downhill they enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Mosel valley.
At the center stands the king of white wines, the Riesling. Whether late harvest or dry, the Riesling is always in a class of its own.

On Saturday & Sunday, the popular festival starts at 11:00 AM each day and will be celebrated until 7:00 PM.
A ticket per person grants admission to the festival on both days. Children have free admission. Young people from 16 years need an admission ticket.
Parking is available at the access road to the Winningen airfield and at the Winningen train station. The event path is approximately 4 km long and easy to hike. The hiking trail is among the most beautiful along the entire Mosel.
