This day course will use fresh woad dyed, which has been specially grown on the grounds of the Roscheider Hof. In addition to the dyeing practice, there will also be an extensive introduction to the theory and history of dyeing with woad and the indigo pigment it contains. Especially in the Middle Ages, indigo was produced in large quantities from woad. In Germany, vast areas were used for woad cultivation in some regions, such as around Erfurt in Thuringia or Michelstadt in the Odenwald.
In this day course, fresh woad will be dyed, which has been specifically cultivated on the grounds of Roscheider Hof.
