- Kinheim-Kindel
Kinheim Villa lies on the gentle slope down to the Mosel, with a view across the river to the village of the same name on the opposite bank. The site of the villa is a fine example of how making use of features in the local landscape were more important than aligning the villa on a particular point of the compass. The front faces not south, as was usual, but north. The entrance to the new main building of the country estate was also in the centre, leading to a room that served both as living and working quarters. A bath was integrated into the south corner of the complex. The pool in the cold bath was in an apse that projected from the façade. The new building offered more rooms for living, working and storage than its predecessor.
