- Ediger-Eller
The small Moselle village of Eller got its railway station with the opening of the Moselle line on 2 May 1879.
The station is located on the short section of track between the steel bridge over the Moselle and the Kaiser Wilhelm Tunnel. These construction measures shortened the Moselle loop at the Calmont (steepest vineyard in the world with a 65° slope). The tunnel overcomes a difference in altitude of fourteen metres between Eller railway station and Cochem. The station is located outside the municipality and served more to secure railway operations than to transport goods and passengers. A small half-timbered building served as the reception building. The railway station is advertised as the Ediger/Eller/Mosel hiking station.
