- Bernkastel-Kues
The Bresgenruh is a vantage point in the forest high above the old town centre of Bernkastel-Kues.
The name of the vantage point, not far from the ‘Golden Cross’, high above the Tiefenbach valley, goes back to Hermann Bresgen. Bresgen was head of the Bernkastel district court in Schanzstrasse from 1879 to 1897. Hiking to Bresgenruh is very easy. The Moselsteig side trail ‘Bernkasteler Bärensteig’ leads right past it. The vantage point offers keen hikers wonderful views of Bernkastel-Kues, Landshut Castle and the Moselle region.
