Canoe SaarFari

  • Konz

Being active and enjoying nature, that's what a canoe trip on the Saar promises. The lively rapids in the Wiltinger Saarbend really get the journey going.

On the right bank of the Saar in Saarburg, near the old town bridge, there is the opportunity to rent canoes and rediscover the scenic beauty of the Saar Valley in a completely new way. The most beautiful section is the Wiltinger Saarbogen between Schoden and the Kanzem lock, where the Saar is almost untouched and also placed under nature protection. What’s special are the lively rapids that bring real excitement to canoeing. One is rewarded with unique landscape experiences such as river islands, lily fields, and reed bushes, as well as a diverse wildlife with grey herons, dragonflies, and grass frogs.

The canoe provider "Saar-Mosel-Adventure" offers various tours on the Saar with starting points at different locations. You can find an overview of the tours here! Costs vary depending on the tour and number of people. Guided canoe tours with a guide are also available: Price on request (minimum group size of 16 people, smaller groups possible)

Canoeing through a nature paradise: Actively experience the Saar

The lower Saar Valley between Serrig and Konz is one of the most beautiful nature paradises in the region – especially from the water, a fascinating river landscape with a diverse animal world and impressive floodplain landscapes reveals itself here. For everyone who wants to experience the Saar from a completely new perspective, KanuSaarFari offers the perfect opportunity: Equipped with rental canoes or kayaks and the right equipment, nothing stands in the way of an unforgettable adventure on the water.

Two particularly popular tours make the beauty of the Saar tangible:

The Waterfall Tour – Paddling fun with a natural highlight
The tour begins in Saarburg – just a few strokes away awaits a real highlight: the 20-meter high waterfall of the Leukbach and the idyllic Hackenberger Mill. After this short detour into the Leuk, it goes downstream on the Saar through the charming wine landscape to Schoden. A special experience is the nature reserve "Wiltinger Saarbogen" – with lively rapids and a diverse wildlife. Further downstream, the Holy Nicholas, patron saint of sailors, greets you before reaching the destination in Konz-Könen. The return trip is easily possible by bus or train.
Length: 14 km | Duration: approx. 5 hours | average flow speed

Nature Tour – small but wild and romantic
The nature tour begins in Schoden and is perfect for a spontaneous outing or a short break in between. In about two hours, one paddles through a particularly natural section of the Saar – the Wiltinger Saarbogen. Kingfishers, cormorants, dragonflies, and beavers call this place home. Occasional small rapids add a touch of adventure.
Length: 7.5 km | Duration: approx. 2 hours | average flow speed
