By e-bike to the castles of Eltz and Pyrmont:

The tour starts in Karden. The information board at the corner of Kernstraße on the Mosel River shows the route. Uphill in the direction of Binningen, leave the Kernstraße after approx. 100 metres to follow the little-used road uphill to the Windhäuser Höfe (6-10% gradient) and on to Möntenich. Behind Möntenich, the cycle path leads along paved farm roads past the Schwanenkirche - a former pilgrimage church - via Roes to Pyrmont Castle. The tour continues over the K 27 and further on the cycle path parallel to the K 35 to Pillig. The route continues via Sevenich and Wierschem to Eltz Castle. From Münstermaifeld, the cycle path leads through the Schrumpfbach valley (7 km, 4.5 km of which downhill), past 15 mills to Hatzenport on the Moselle. Back along the Moselle cycle path, the tour ends after 11 km in Treis-Karden. The large differences in altitude between the Moselle and the Eifel can be easily overcome on an e-bike.
