By e-bike to the castles of Eltz and Pyrmont: Total length: 51 km Karden - Pyrmont Castle (16.5 km) - Eltz Castle (25 km) Karden - Hatzenport - Eltz Castle (26 km)
By E-Bike to Eltz and Pyrmont Castles:
The tour starts in Karden, Müden, or Moselkern. The information board in Karden, at the corner of Kernstraße, shows the route. In Karden, the path goes uphill towards Binningen. After about 100 meters, the Kernstraße is left to follow the less-traveled road uphill to the Windhäuser Höfe (6-10% incline) and further on to Möntenich. Behind Möntenich, the bike path leads over paved agricultural paths past the Schwanenkirche - a former pilgrimage church - through Roes to Pyrmont Castle.
The tour continues via K 27 and further along the bike path parallel to K 35 to Pillig. The path continues via Sevenich and Wierschem to Eltz Castle.
From Münstermaifeld, the bike path goes through the Schrumpfbachtal (7 km, of which 4.5 km downhill), passing 15 mills to Hatzenport by the Moselle. Returning via the Moselle bike path, the tour ends again in Karden (11 km), Müden, or Moselkern.
The large elevation differences between the Moselle and the Eifel can be comfortably overcome with an E-Bike.
Here you will find current information about Eltz Castle and Pyrmont Castle.
