Hunsrück-Moselle Cycle Route

Treis-Karden - Lütz - Lieg - Kastellaun - Emmelshausen - Burgen - Treis-Karden

The Hunsrück-Mosel cycle path creates an interesting connection from the Moselle through the Lützbach valley in the front Hunsrück to the popular Schinderhannes cycle path in Kastellaun (30 km). The trail runs on roads with little traffic and farm tracks. Except for 1 km (hard forest road), everything is asphalted. The route from Lütz to Lieg has an approx. 7% gradient. The return trip to Treis-Karden can be continued via the Schinderhannes cycle path to Emmelshausen (23 km). From Emmelshausen, the Schinderhannes-Untertermosel cycle path leads to Burgen (20 km). From here the Moselle cycle path leads back to Treis-Karden (10 km). From Emmelshausen you have the option of taking the Hunsrück-Mosel cycle bus (line 629) to Hatzenport (timetable and reservations at www.radbusse.de), from where you cycle along the Moselle back to Treis-Karden (11 km).

The large differences in altitude between the Moselle and Hunsrück can be comfortably overcome on an e-bike.
