- Kröv
The medieval "Cröver Reich" originates from a possession of the Carolingians. An earlier Roman court estate was transformed into the Oberhof, which was later called the Emperor's Court, once the Carolingian possession became imperial property. On the Bering, which blocks the eastern part of the Kröver Valley, there were the assembly site and the court house of the knightly council, as well as the ship mills along the Moselle. The "Cröver Reich" was pledged to the Counts of Sponheim in the Middle Ages and granted as a male fief in 1399. The Sponheim courtiers held their office by inheritance. Their descendants still live on the estate today.
