- Kröv
Built on a former Roman villa
The medieval "Cröver Reich" dates back to a possession of the Carolingians. On a former Roman estate, the Oberhof was built, which was later called the emperor's court when the Carolingian possession became imperial allod. On the Bering, which blocks the Kröver Valley to the east, lay the place of assembly and the court building of the knights' court, and on the Mosel the ship mills. The "Cröver Reich" was pledged to the Counts of Sponheim in the Middle Ages and granted as a feudal tenure in 1399. The Sponheim courtiers held their office in hereditary succession. Their descendants still live today on the estate.
