Elisenhäuschen

  • Mülheim an der Mosel

The Elisenhäuschen, which has been preserved completely unchanged, is located in the vineyards, southeast above the village of Mülheim, on the state road 158. A one-and-a-half-storey hipped-roof building in the small, walled courtyard at the entrance to the courtyard indicates 1823 as the year of construction. The massive plaster building shows elaborate classicist forms.

Very special views can be experienced during an evening wine tasting in the Elisenhäuschen: situated high above the Veldenzer Elisenberg, a true vineyard panorama unfolds between heaven and earth. Shortly after sunset, at the blue hour, the first stars in the firmament sparkle in competition with the wine in the glasses. A one-and-a-half-storey hipped-roof building in the small walled courtyard at the entrance to the Elisenhäuschen, which has been preserved completely unchanged, indicates 1823 as the year of construction. The massive plaster building shows elaborate classicist forms. The building and the vineyard bear their names in reverence for the Prussian Queen Louise. And no less a person than Stuart Pigott has described this vineyard as an excellent Riesling site. Cheers, to Elise!

The Elisenhäuschen is owned by the Bauer GbR winery.
