Eulenköpfchen with Peterskapelle

"Eulenköpfchen"
A worthwhile destination is the view point "Eulenköpfchen" on the Petersberg above the Mosel town Neef. From the viewing platform you can enjoy a spectacular 'triple river view "over the entire Bremmer Moselle bow with the steepest vineyard in Europe and the wine villages and Alf St. Aldegund up to the "Prinzenkopf" in Zeller Hamm.
On a clear day you can see from here seven Mosel locations, that are: Neef, Bremm, Ediger Eller, St. Aldegund, Bullay and Alf.
The name "Eulenköpfchen" must come from aquita = eagle, that means "Roman Legion Eagle." There was from 270-405 AD, a Roman mountain fastening and a signal station.
