- Neef
"Eulenköpfchen" A worthwhile excursion destination is the viewpoint "Eulenkopfchen" on the Petersberg above the Moselle village of Neef.
From the viewpoint, you can enjoy a magnificent "triple Mosel view" over the entire Bremmer Mosel loop with the steepest vineyard in Europe and over the wine-growing villages of Alf and St. Aldegund up to the Prinzenkopf in Zeller Hamm.
In clear weather, you can see seven Mosel towns from here, which are: Neef, Bremm, Ediger, Eller, St. Aldegund, Bullay, and Alf.
The name "Eulenköpfchen" comes from aquita=Adler, which must have meant "Roman legionary eagle." Because at this viewpoint, there was a Roman mountain fortification and a signaling station from 270-405 AD.
