Constantly interrupted by magnificent forests and vineyards, the eye captures the Moselle five times, making it appear like five lakes. The tall observation tower in the woods above Detzem is freely accessible and always worth a visit. It is located directly along the Moselsteig Trail 7 Mehring-Leiwen, the premium circular hiking trail Moselsteig SeitenSprung "Mehringer Schweiz", on the Stefan-Andres hiking trail and many other local circular hiking paths in the holiday region Romantic Wine Road.
The ascent to the 25-meter-high observation tower is more than worthwhile, as it offers a magnificent view of the landscape structure of the Moselle Valley between Hunsrück and Eifel.
