In 2017, the Kinheim-Kindel Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrated its 112th anniversary! In addition to the technical fire service, the members of the association have also been involved in cultural matters. Numerous benches along the hiking trails, 2 shelters and barbecue huts on the Kinheimer Berg, as well as the construction of the water treading facility in Kindel, are proof that they have also done something for our holiday guests. The mountain festival, which has been organised by the fire brigade every year on 1 May since 1969, delights holidaymakers, hiking enthusiasts and local residents alike. We can also be particularly proud of our friendship with the Brandweer Harelbeke (West Flanders, Belgium), which goes back more than 50 years. The first contacts were made in 1961, which were sealed with a mutual visit in 1962 in Harelbeke and in Kinheim to a friendship. Out of this friendship, the town of Harelbeke and the municipality of Kinheim decided to establish a partnership in 1997.

In 2017, the Kinheim-Kindel Volunteer Fire Brigade celebrated its 112th anniversary! The fire brigade currently has 39 active members, 4 members in the youth section, and 7 men in the old-age section.

Youth work is one of the most important features of our fire brigade. It goes without saying that 35 of the current active members have found their way through the youth fire brigade to the main fire brigade. The fire brigade currently has a TSF (portable fire engine). In 1963, a unit of the Civil Protection (ZB) was stationed in Kinheim, which was later transferred to the Civil Protection. The unit LZ-W (fire brigade water) still has a fire-fighting group vehicle (LF16TS), as well as a hose truck with 2000m B-hose (SW-200-Tr), in order to be able to be deployed in the event of large-scale, supra-local incidents.
