- Saarburg
Immerse yourself in the history of the over 1,000-year-old town of Saarburg and the castle complex of the same name. Walk in the footsteps of the Middle Ages through Saarburg's narrow alleyways and squares.
In the basin of the waterfall is the Hackenberger Mill from the 13th/14th century. The mill complex comprises three stacked mills, whose wheels still turn today. Originally, an oil mill, a bark mill, and a grain mill were operated here. Over two floors, you will gain interesting insights into the arduous craft of the medieval millers' guild. You can see the former grinding room, milling processes, mill wheels, as well as historical devices and tools.
Experience the journey from grain to flour during a guided tour at the mill museum and learn more about the history of the mill at the foot of the waterfall.
