The Roscheider Hof Open-Air Museum offers unique insights into the everyday life of people from a large region in the heart of Europe.
The Roscheider Hof Open-Air Museum offers unique insights into the former daily life of the people from a large region in the heart of Europe. At the core of the open-air museum is the ensemble of buildings of the Roscheider Hof estate, featuring around 3,000 m² of extensive thematic permanent exhibitions. Adjacent to the estate building is the rose garden, designed in the Biedermeier style, where over 700 rose bushes bloom in summer. In the building groups of the outdoor area, you can walk through houses and farms that are furnished according to their use and equipped with household goods. In the surroundings of the houses, gardens, demonstration fields, and paths have been created based on historical models. The cottage gardens are part of the regional project "Gardens Without Borders."
The guided tour in historical clothing takes you on an informative and delightful stroll, concluding with a small regional drink (wine, Viez or apple spritzer, and "Schmier").
Cost: Guided tour €70.00 plus entry fees
Please note: the upper floor in the main building is currently closed.
