The most beautiful wine view of the Moselle 2020! Between 10 February and 15 March, more than 10,000 people voted for the "Most Beautiful Wine Views 2020" in the German wine regions in a public online poll on the website of the German Wine Institute (DWI). "The most beautiful wine views are awarded to vantage points that guarantee impressive views of the German wine-growing landscapes and are also easy to reach for hikers or by bike. With them, new wine tourism destinations are created in the wine-growing regions that invite visitors to visit the wine regions and enjoy the wines where they grow," explained DWI Managing Director Monika Reule.
The Heldensicht is located above the wine-growing village of Lieser in the holiday region of Bernkastel-Kues and offers a great view of the Moselle landscape. Not only the wine village of Lieser, but also other Moselle villages can be seen in all their typical Moselle splendour. Add to this, of course, the eternal Moselle, the steep slopes of the Riesling vineyards, the Moselle wine and cultural landscape that is almost compelling for hiking: simply a hero's view ...! If you want to visit the Moselle's most beautiful wine view in 2020, you should combine it with a nice hike. The Ferienland hiking trail "Vom Urstrom zum Strom" leads past this view, among others. On the approx. 17km long circular trail, it goes through the vineyards and forests of the Urtstrom Valley of the Moselle. All information about the route as well as GPX data can be found at: https://www.bernkastel.de/aktivunterwegs/wandern-an-der-mosel/ferienlandwege-im-moselurlaub/vom-urstrom-zum-strom/.
