Start your journey at Schloss Liebieg. The Liebieg Castle with chapel and park has not lost any of its charm despite its tumultuous history and age. Stroll on, past old half-timbered and stone houses, until you reach the imposing Castle von der Leyen next to the parish church. Signposts on-site provide easily understandable information about the dates and facts related to each object. For hiking enthusiasts, we recommend a detour with an ascent to Carlshöhe. From the observation pavilion, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view over Gondorf and the Moselle Valley. You can discover why Schloss von der Leyen was once a water castle during your visit to the wine museum in the renovated rooms of the castle, featuring a built model. Additionally, the castle houses a local history museum, lovingly compiled and managed by the Kultur- und Heimatverein Gondorf e.V. The historical village tour is particularly impressive when guided. The extensive historical backgrounds, not only of the castles and their noble families, but also of the once numerous wine, trade, and craft enterprises, are vividly presented. Starting from Schloss Liebieg, the guided tour lasts about 1-1.5 hours and ends at the wine museum in Schloss von der Leyen. Starting from Schloss Liebieg, the tour lasts about 1 - 1.5 hours and ends at the wine museum in Schloss von der Leyen. Minimum number of participants is 6 and a maximum of 15 people. The price per participant is €8, including a glass of wine at the end.
