The historic monastery of St. Bruno at the confluence of the Saar and Moselle rivers in Konz is the venue and home of the concerts and the musical academy. Originating from the 25-year tradition of concerts of the summer academy in Konz, chamber music concerts with international artists are now the main focus of the festival under the new artistic director, the pianist Joseph Moog. He will be supported by cellist Moritz Reutlinger and percussionist Christopher Hastings. In addition to the concerts in the Konz Karthaus monastery, the programme includes numerous concerts in the surrounding European countryside and in the region. The festival has a special cooperation with Haus Beda in Bitburg. The Festival Academy offers selected young musicians the unique opportunity to work with world-class artists and to benefit from the intensive and inspiring atmosphere. The geographical proximity to neighbouring countries enables our visitors to enjoy a genuine European cultural experience and attracts artists from all over the world to the region. Supported by the town of Konz and the association 'Vogel als Prophet e.V.', the festival is firmly rooted in the region and has enjoyed great popularity since its foundation. A special concern of the Konz Music Festival is the connection of art, culture and regional characteristics in the Saar, Moselle, Lorraine and Ardennes region, as well as the connection of regional characteristics with the modern global music world.
