Kornmarkt Square

  • Trier

Today the newly designed Kornmarkt Square in Fleischstrasse is, after the Main Market, one of the loveliest squares in the city.

In the middle of the pedestrian zone, surrounded by modern retail dealers, cultural facilities, and restaurants with outdoor seating, the square has been taken into the hearts of Trier residents as well as visitors. In two directions, it offers a superb view: the magnificent baroque St. George’s Fountain from 1750 and, in the other direction, the grandiose seat of Roman Emperors from the 4th century, the Roman Imperial Throne Room (Konstantin-Basilika). The square offers a place to just linger, to relax, and to reflect.
