Agricultural Cooperative Enkirch eG
The Agricultural Cooperative Enkirch has been managing communal lands as well as the arable lands of its members since its founding in the year 1947.
The reason for the establishment of the cooperative was to secure the supply of basic foodstuffs for the population of Enkirch in the post-war period.
Today, it is the last remaining cooperative of this kind in the Rhineland, a certified environmentally friendly producing business that is engaged in both seed propagation and the production of brewing barley, rapeseed, spelt, and other cereal varieties that are marketed. A constant change in the production program and the ongoing modernization of working and production methods ensured the survival of the cooperative even in difficult times for agriculture.
Currently, the LBG Enkirch manages areas of about 200 hectares, thereby making an important contribution to the preservation of the cultural landscape in the district of Enkirch.
