At this vantage point in the Sommerau Schloßberg you can enjoy the panoramic view over the steep slope of the small town of Sommerau with its castle ruins and waterfall.
You can reach the viewpoint via the vineyard path, then take a short path up a narrow path to the picnic area. A sensory bench and a table with benches invite you to enjoy the fantastic view of the Ruwertal. An information board explains the history of Sommerau Castle, which can be seen from here. The viewing point is located directly on the Morscheider Grenzpfad dream loop and on the RuT6 theme trail, which provides an overview of the history of use of the Ruwer near Sommerau. In 2019, the Sommerau Schloßberg was recognized as a highlight of biodiversity as part of the Living Moselle Vineyards.
