Light point Wolf- Wolfer Goldgrube

  • Traben-Trarbach

At river kilometre 111, the wine village of Wolf is located in the "thumb" of the "glove", as the Moselle loops between Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach are called because of their special shape. The 7 ha vineyard "Wolfer Goldgrube" is located opposite the village on the left side of the Moselle.

In Wolf, with its "Goldgrube" vineyard, many different "wall landscapes" come together, providing a habitat for a diverse flora and fauna. In the vineyard, these are rocky outcrops, old and newly built dry stone walls, and in the village, the cemetery wall with its magnificent "wallflowers". Species-rich cross terraces enrich the vineyards. The ruins of the monastery can always be seen as a landmark of the village.
