High above Maring-Noviand, in the midst of the vineyard "Maringer Sonnenuhr," there is a very special eye-catcher: a sundial on the steep vineyard slope.
Maringer Sundial – Timekeeper in the vineyard.
It was erected in the 1930s and has since served as a striking landmark of the region. Several years ago, dedicated citizens of the town lovingly restored the historic structure. Even today, on clear days, the time can be read – a fascinating interplay of nature, technology, and craftsmanship.
