- Traben-Trarbach
Museum of Traben-Trarbach's town history and urban residential culture.
The more than 20 exhibition rooms of the Middle Museum, which house the lifework of the collector and homeland artist Dr. Ernst Willen Spies, not only contain precious furniture and works of art from three centuries, but also an extensive collection about the history of the city of Traben-Trarbach. You will also discover archaeological findings from the Roman and Franconian periods, as well as objects of rural domestic culture and displays about the history of the handicrafts and the city trade guilds. The permanent exhibition is supplemented by the architectural plans and archaeological findings made during the excavations of the ruins of the former French Mont Royal fortress conducted during the 1930’s. The exhibition also includes a famous model of the Grevenburg Castle.
