Below the waterfall in Saarburg, the mill wheels of the Hackenberger Mill from the 13th/14th century are turning. Originally, there was an oil mill as well as a dye and a grain mill in operation here. Grain was ground here until 1974. In the cellar of the mill, many gears can be viewed that are connected by a leather belt to the grinding mill on the upper floor. Various grinding machines and other devices can be seen in the upper rooms that gradually produce finer flour from the ground grains. Film screening: "From Grain to Flour".

Digital offers:

- With the audio tour (in German), guests can learn more about the Hackenberger Mill and the work of the miller.

- Electronic functional model that illustrates the path of water up to the grinding of the grain

- For children, there is a museum quiz (D, E, F and NL)

- Explanation film in comic style. This welcomes guests in German and English right at the start of their tour. The film bridges the centuries: it explains the history of the mill site and clarifies the work of the miller in past times.
