- Cochem
Anyone who has mastered this stage and its numerous steep slopes can understand the hardships involved in winegrowing on the Moselle.
Whoever has mastered this stage and its numerous steep slopes can understand the challenges of viticulture along the Moselle. The rocky paths along the ridge require surefootedness but offer unforgettable views over the Moselle for long stretches. Ultimately, the path leads below the vertical cliff of the Brauselay, where the stage destination Cochem, crowned by its fairy-tale beautiful Reichsburg, is already in sight. With this beautiful destination in mind, the Moselsteig leads down into the hospitable town.
Attention: The route has been changed since May 27, 2026. The last section before Cochem goes through shaded forest to the viewpoint "Wetterfahne". The descent along narrow paths also provides a great view of the Reichsburg from time to time.
The changed section is marked as usual.
