Open-Air-Museum

At the Roscheider Hof Open-Air Museum, you embark on an exciting journey through time and learn how people in the Saar and Mosel regions lived and worked over the past 200 years.

A total of 4000 sqm of ethnological exhibitions, from viticulture to dentistry, can be explored in the historic exhibition building of the estate and in the forest museum. The large tin figure museum and the toy worlds will not only make children's hearts race. In the building groups of the open-air area, you can visit houses and farms that are furnished and equipped according to their usage. Enjoy the scent of roses in the rose garden and that of medicinal and culinary plants in the adjacent herb garden.

Augmented Reality App:
With the new Konz AR app, the historical houses in Roscheider Hof can be experienced virtually. The app leads to a total of 11 interesting points, including the general store, the schoolhouse, the village inn, and the smithy (videos see below under "More Information"). The 360° recordings also show authentic representations in several houses that were created during historical events at the Roscheider Hof. Get a little taste of it with the app. The smartphone app "KonzAR" can be downloaded from the AppStore or GooglePlay.

Rally for Kids:
To ensure that the little visitors don't get bored at all, experience sheets can be purchased at the cash register. For those who prefer a modern approach, a rally app can be downloaded onto their own smartphone. Printed guides and a smartphone app are also available for adults.

Accessibility:
The majority of the exhibition in the exhibition building is accessible without steps (including via elevator); museum villages are located in steep and uneven terrain but can be accessed via a new barrier-free path. There are steps in front of and inside the houses, as well as limited movement areas in the rooms. A disabled toilet is available, and the restaurant and beer garden are on the ground floor.

The new Konz Augmented Reality app offers added value for all people with mobility impairments who cannot visit the houses due to lack of accessibility. The smartphone app "KonzAR" can be downloaded from the AppStore or GooglePlay.

Explore the museum with the new museum app THE FASCINATION OF THINGS. The app tells stories about the exhibits. Sometimes it lets the things speak for themselves, while in other cases, people from times not so long ago share what they used these objects for. Visitors can now gain entertaining and informative insights into the collections of Roscheider Hof with their smartphones.
