Open-Air-Museum

At the Roscheider Hof Open Air Museum, you embark on an exciting journey through time and learn how the people of the Saar and Mosel regions lived and worked over the last 200 years.

A total of 4,000 square meters of folklore exhibitions from viticulture to dentistry can be visited in the historic exhibition building of the estate and in the forest museum. The large tin figure museum and the toy worlds will not only excite children. In the building groups of the open-air area, you can explore houses and farms that are furnished and equipped with household items according to their use. Enjoy the scent of roses in the rose garden and the aroma of healing and spice plants in the adjacent herb garden.

Accessibility:

Most of the exhibition in the exhibition building is accessible without steps (including via elevator), the museum villages are located in steep and uneven terrain but can be reached via a new barrier-free path. There are steps in front of and inside the houses as well as limited movement areas in the rooms. Accessible toilet available, restaurant and beer garden are at ground level. The Fascination of Things:

Explore the museum with the new museum app THE FASCINATION OF THINGS. The app tells stories about the exhibits. Sometimes it lets the things themselves speak, while in other cases, people from not-so-long-ago share what they used them for. Visitors can now gain entertaining and informative insights into the collections of the Roscheider Hof with their mobile phones.
