Ortsgemeinde Burgen

  • Burgen

State-recognized recreation area with numerous hiking trails in the surrounding area.

Burgen is today a state-recognized spa town on the beautiful Moselle River. The first documented mention dates back over 1000 years. Before this time, Romans and Celts populated this beautiful landscape over many centuries. The historic medieval streets and alleys invite you to stroll. At the mouth of the Baybach, all hiking enthusiasts will find a scenic paradise. Peace and relaxation are guaranteed. On the opposite side of the Moselle, the "Burg Bischofstein" rises majestically on steep slate rock that drops off on three sides – at a height of about 190 meters.
