From the forest fire area of April 2020, the "Meulenwald-Moseltal View" was created in 2021.
The idea is to provide visitors to the forest with a place to take a break and relax while informing and raising awareness about forest-related topics, including forest fire risk and forests in climate change.
A family-friendly walkway and various seating options have been built at the new viewpoint using wood from the Meulenwald. In spring 2021, the burned trees were cleared, and the tree stumps were removed, with walkways and benches constructed from Douglas fir and robinia logs.
The Meulenwald-Moseltal View is a fascinating new viewing platform above the chapel at Heilbrunnen.
