From Trunk Dealer to Sky Performance Flight School

The history of Moselglider is characterized by our passion for paragliding and our commitment to having a local dealer in the Mosel region. Since we have a completely different flying infrastructure than flight schools in the Alps, we also have a different, very "mobile" business concept.

Moselglider has often been referred to in the scene as a trunk dealer, which is not necessarily seen as a compliment for our flexibility and customer orientation. Unlike in the Alps, where there is a central landing site with the corresponding flight school in the valley, we have many spread-out sites along the Mosel that are far apart. With a south wind, we are in Klüsserath or Maring-Noviand, with a north wind in Burgen or Mehring, and with an east wind in Zeltingen-Rachtig. This simply requires us to be more flexible. And since it is impossible to rent spaces at 5 locations and not all customers want to drive many kilometers to visit us, we just come to you!

To make this possible, we have three Moselglider buses with huge trunks. This allows us to bring the test wings and harnesses even easier to where they belong, namely to you in the fields. By the way, there is also room for a refrigerator with selected cold drinks. 30 degrees, no wind, who wouldn't like to try out a harness while holding a cold beer instead of control lines?

Sky Performance Center

Since 2017, we have been certified as a Sky Performance Center by the DHV. Sky Performance Centers must meet a number of conditions and are certified by the DHV.

• The flight school director must qualify as a performance trainer in a one-week training course. The training for this additional qualification is selective (demanding practical flight tasks) and trains the participating flight instructors especially in the areas of; flight practice, psychology, meteorology, quality management.
• The flight school must create a comprehensive quality management manual for the area of performance training. Legal requirements (suitable flying sites, personnel qualifications, etc.) must be stated in this, as well as the planning, organization, and documentation of the trainings.
• In a quality audit, the information in the quality management manual is checked on-site by a DHV auditor.

We have successfully completed all tests and audits and are thus one of only 26 Sky Performance Centers in Germany. In the region, we are the only flight school with this demanding quality seal.

Our New Facilities

To provide our students and customers with a central point of contact, we are now expanding for the second time and have rented new facilities in Schweich-Issel. On the upper floor of the building of Farben Wiedemann, we offer the largest selection of harnesses, wings, helmets, and accessories in the region for you.

Our modern and multimedia-equipped training room accommodates 12 people and provides an excellent base for exciting theoretical lessons.

The shop offers the opportunity to test and touch all products directly. And in our small pilot bar, we always have regional and overregional cold drinks ready for you.
