It was part of a military concept that envisaged a whole chain of such bases in the Moselle valley, built on the mountains. Several chambers carved out of the rock, a low stone wall as the remains of the former enclosure wall and the remains of a sectional ditch are still preserved. Small finds and coins prove that the base was used until the fall of Roman rule in the second half of the 5th century. Century existed.
