Raiffeisenkasse Kinheim

This building was constructed in 1939 as a warehouse and commercial building for the Raiffeisenkasse Kinheim. This cooperative bank had been founded in 1918 and merged in 1938, a year before the building's construction, with the Kinheimer Savings and Loan Association, which had been established in 1897 by 16 members. In 1950, the bank also incorporated the threshing cooperative. 

At its fortieth anniversary in 1958, the Raiffeisenkasse Kinheim had 184 members. By then, around 12 million DM had been transacted since the currency reform, and about 230 wagons of goods rolled into Kinheim annually, supplying the winemakers with agricultural materials. 

Economic difficulties necessitated the merger of the bank with Raiffeisenbank Kröv in 1973. The branch established thereafter in Kinheim, which had been located in the tourist information building since around 1982, was closed on June 30, 2003.
