- Neumagen-Dhron
About 10.000 visitors a year experience a unique boat tour on the Moselle abord of STELLA NOVIOMAGI. The Roman-time ship invites to an entertaining time travel! The boat starts in Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine-growing village of Germany.
Tours with STELLA NOVIOMAGI - 10 Km upstream or downstream - make passengers marvel at the steep sloped Moselle vineyards, rising about 300m above the river, hosting world-famous wine sites as “Trittenheimer Apotheke” and “Piesporter Goldtröpfchen”. The tours are accompanied by experienced guides providing information on the past and the present of this over 2000-years old viticultural landscape.
In 2007 the “Star of Neumagen” was launched and is successful ever since. During the season the ship of 18 m length and 4 m width can be seen cruising on the Moselle almost every day. Quite often it is chartered by clubs and companies or as an attraction for wine festivals. Especially when it is rowed it fascinates the spectators.
Individual guests have the opportunity to enjoy a cruise with the Wine Ship during the season from Easter until October Saturdays at 3.30 pm and Sundays at 10 am. Additional tours are offered during the summer vacation of Rhineland-Palatinate on Wednesdays at 2 pm. Attendants meet at the “Info-Pavilion Römerweinschiff”, Pelzergasse 7, 54347 Neumagen-Dhron, where a film is shown as a start of the time travel. After that the 1,5 hour tour of the Moselle starts. The fee for the tour is 18 € per person. Children between 6 and 14 years pay 9,00 €. Reservations in advance are strongly recommended!
