Stuben Monastery Ruins

  • Bremm

Opposite Bremm on a peninsula is the former Stuben Monastery with its impressive church ruins. The complex was founded at the beginning of the 12th century by the Augustinian nuns of the Springiersbach Abbey.

Today, only the outer walls remain, except for the west wall. The monastery is mainly used for open-air events in summer. The view of the ruins from Calmont is particularly impressive. The Stuben convent ruins bear impressive witness to a large nunnery that was built opposite the Calmont in the 12th century. Today, only the ruins of the convent church, built in 1685/87, are visible; it serves as a cultural forum, and the music events in the Stuben convent ruins are highly recommended.
