Wooden altar from the 18th century
Tabernacle altar (wood altar) in Kasel
Halfway up, dominating the local landscape, the church in Kasel is the landmark of the place. It was built in 1926/27 by the architect Monz from Trier. The old chapel, which was expanded in 1781, was incorporated as a forecourt and organ gallery. It fits well with the long, round-closed windows and the straight ceiling in the new building.
Inside, there is a valuable wooden altar from the 18th century. It is designed in tabernacle form and adorned with simple Rococo decor. It is crowned by a figure of St. Nicholas, while the figures of the holy apostles Simon and Thaddeus stand on the side platforms.
