Sun-kissed, the slopes around the village allow wines to flourish that have delighted connoisseurs for 2000 years. Wintrich itself is free from through traffic due to the bypass road and offers romantic alleyways and corners with historic half-timbered houses and traditional wineries. Every five years, however, the atmosphere in the village changes. Then the wine village becomes a festival venue, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world with its Passion plays."
