Tourist Information Zeltingen-Rachtig

Zeltingen-Rachtig wine village - the “sun parlour of the Moselle” - is an officially recognized health resort in the heart of the Middle Moselle. The village was first mentioned in documents in 1085, but the first settlements go back way further. The names of the two villages are clear indications of their Celtic origin. In the Middle Ages, Zeltingen was called “Celtanc” and Rachtig “Raptacum”. It is verified that the Moselle banks were populated and the ridge ways of Zeltingen-Rachtig were frequented as early as 3.500 BC.
