Trout farm Rosengarten

  • Trassem

Since 1973, the Forellengut in the Leukbachtal near Trassem has been producing sustainably raised fish without factory farming.

The Forellengut is a fish farming operation with river fishing. On the premises in Trassem, there are several freshwater ponds and a hatchery, where various fish species are raised from eggs to market-ready fish. The fish include different species of trout, char, carp, sturgeons, etc. In the river fishing on the Moselle, eels and zander are caught. The fish are then purchased by restaurants, angling clubs, and private individuals. In the in-house fish processing facility, the fish are slaughtered and prepared fresh or smoked for consumption. Fresh and smoked fish specialties are sold directly in the on-site farm shop. Currently, there are seven employees working at the operation. An online shop also offers the possibility to order products online.
