The local association is the nucleus of VdK work. This is where the VdK social association shows its strength. This closeness to the people, the local presence, is the guarantee of our success. The diversity of "VdK life" is oriented towards local needs, the wishes and expectations of the members and the creativity and activity of those responsible.

The association was founded in 1948 with 13 members under the chairmanship of Arnold Jacoby. From 2000 to 2023, Cilly Jacoby was the chairperson. Since 2023 Gerhild Rieth has held this job.
It is not only the statutory tasks that determine the work of the board. Benches and tables were donated by the local association for the general public. Furthermore, we have suggested the renovation of the war memorial at the church and, after consultation with the regional association, we support this renovation with a donation which is earmarked for this purpose. In addition to the annual general meeting, the association organises excursions and the very popular Christmas party.
At present the association has 96 members.
