WeinbergPfirsich-Blüten-Wanderung

  • Neef

Directions The best way to get there is by train to Ediger-Eller station. Then head towards the Mosel and go under the bridge. Walk along the agricultural path by the slope side next to the fruit trees. Then cross the road and take the riverside path towards the Mosel. Here and on the opposing slopes, you can already see pink peach trees. Along the Mosel, you pass by the steepest vineyard in Europe and the ruins of the Stuben monastery. In Bremm, take the pedestrian underpass into the village and then go uphill through the typical Mosel lanes, following the signs towards Calmont climbing path up to a blue residential house. Before it, go left uphill and then immediately left again. The path leads along the back side of the picturesque village to numerous fruit and vine plantings. At the hiking hut, cross the road and take the middle path along the slope. Here, on the north slope between Bremm and Neef, over two thousand vineyard peach trees grow. The accompanying map indicates the way, which offers wonderful views and photo opportunities.

Route description The best way to get there is by train to Ediger-Eller station. Then head towards the Moselle and under the bridge. Follow the farm track along the slope past the fruit trees. Then cross the road and take the riverside path on the Moselle side. Pink peach trees can already be seen here and on the slopes opposite. Along the Moselle, you pass the steepest vineyard in Europe and the ruins of Stuben Monastery.

In Bremm, take the pedestrian subway into the village and then follow the signs for the Calmont via ferrata uphill through the typical Moselle alleyways until you reach a blue house. Before it, turn left uphill and immediately left again. The path leads back along the picturesque village to numerous orchards and vineyards. Cross the road at the hikers' hut and take the middle path on the slope. Over two thousand vineyard peach trees grow here on the northern slope between Bremm and Neef. The map overleaf shows the route, which offers marvellous views and photo opportunities.

An extra loop on the slope is possible and worthwhile. The route continues over the bridge to Neef and then immediately curves down to the banks of the Moselle, where the peach trees are in early bloom. Cross the fairground and turn left up into Alte Kirchstraße. Opposite the small medieval church tower is the Pfirsichhof, where you can buy delicious products in the shop window or in the farm shop. From there it is about 150 metres uphill to Neef railway station. Trains stop at Eller and Neef stations every hour.
