Local recreation area and game reserve Weißhauswald
Out of the city and into the forest: A short drive from the city centre transports you into a different world. The Weisshauswald local recreation area boasts a number of hiking and walking trails with varying degrees of difficulty, which take you through the forest over distances ranging between four and nine kilometres.
In the high ropes course, meanwhile, certified trainers offer interactive half-day, full-day or multi-day programmes for school groups, clubs, companies or other groups. And at the ‘Haus des Waldes (‘House of the forest’), you’ll learn enthralling facts about the historic and ecology of the Weisshauswald. Anyone wanting to further this knowledge can actively explore the Weisshauswald on the 3.5-kilometre Waldlehrpfad (forest educational path).
Visiting the glocal recreation area and the playground is free of charge. Special food for wild animals is available from a vending machine.
