wine trail Burg

  • Kinheim-Kindel

Cosy family hiking trail along various insect hotels and life towers. Child-friendly information and play boards for little explorers, nature quiz, three play stations and a children's playground along the trail.

The route leads through the vineyard site ‘Kinheimer Rosenberg’ along a lovingly created insect hotel and two life towers set up as part of the ‘Life Towers for the Moselle’ project.

The benches set up there invite you to linger and discover the biodiversity of the Moselle.

Three playgrounds set up along the trail, a large children's playground along the route and 10 child-friendly information and nature game boards with quizzes offer a variety of fun for young and old.

The route starts on hiking trail no. 13 to Kinheimer Höhe. At the top, a bench at the ‘wayside shrine’ invites you to take a short break. Then turn left and take the next left again. From there, the path leads along the information boards with a nature quiz to the vineyard site ‘Kinheimer Rosenberg’, where you will find the first insect hotel.

The trail continues past an old wine press and a play xylophone, then climbs a short distance before taking a sharp left turn back towards the village. There is a whispering flower on this path and not far from there the second life tower on this route. Have you spotted the nesting box in the trees by the whispering flower? Maybe there's a lot to see there right now.

Keep left at the next fork in the path (you'll find another teeter-totter here) until you reach the old wine press again.

Now it's all downhill, past the local community's tower of life and down to the B53. A path runs parallel to this road, which you now follow to the left.

The playground at the Sausewind day-care centre is a great place to let off steam - provided the walk takes place outside of the day-care centre's opening hours.
