The musical heart of Kinheim
The musical heart of Kinheim
Those who walk through the streets of Kinheim on Friday evenings can listen to the sounds of the Winzerkapelle Kinheim e.V., which fills the place with music during its rehearsal.
The association is an integral part of village life. The Winzerkapelle is a must not only at municipal and Christian festivals and celebrations in the village. It also organizes its own festivals, such as the Musical Spring Festival at Pentecost or the cheerful music evenings on Friday evenings in September at Harelbekeplatz, and actively participates in village life. With its pronounced and active youth work, the association offers young people in the village a varied hobby. Young and old come together in the association and make music together. This not only strengthens the sense of community but also makes a significant contribution to the preservation of art and culture in the Moselle Valley.
The Winzerkapelle Kinheim e.V. was founded in 1924/25 and currently consists of about 65 active members, as well as a youth band. In addition to the musical framing of village life, the Kinheimer musicians are also known far beyond the borders of our wine village and are frequently on the move. The association still benefits today from the fact that the musical style was directed towards dance and entertainment music very early in its history. The Winzerkapelle is conducted by conductor Christian Vogt. Its extensive repertoire includes concert band music as well as modern entertainment music with vocals.
