"Zeller Schwarze Katz"-Kreiselfigur

On 18 Aug. 2012, the new oversized Zeller Schwarze Katz sculpture was finally unveiled on the new roundabout with an opening ceremony by the wine queen. 5 m high, standing upright on a wine barrel, she now raises her glass to the sky to toast the people. So now I can let the cat out of the bag and reveal the last secret of my pyramid, in the (weather) protection of which this oversized sculpture weighing almost 9 t had been created since Nov. of last year. For a problem-free transport from the outside area of the studio to Zell an der Mosel, certain dimensions and weights were not to be exceeded. First, therefore, the iron-reinforced foundation plate with a diameter of 2.5 m and the almost 1.90 m long half wine barrel on top was created. The upper 2nd half of the barrel is the base plate for the actual Katz sculpture. The 3 iron currencies for the tail and the legs were cast into it, each consisting of a 70 mm outer tube an inserted 50 mm inner tube and an inserted 20 mm construction steel rod, which were cast into each other. After the legs and tail were built up and machined, the body block, which is also iron-reinforced, was built up and then machined. The surfaces consist of a black or dark brown coloured cement coating. The grey base area, still visible in the photos, was filled in to form the core of a typical Moselle vineyard in Zell, from where the Zeller Schwarze Katz welcomes visitors. welcomes visitors.
