At family-owned Schmitz-Herges holiday wine estate, wine has been cultivated on the steep slopes along the Moselle River for several generations. An excellent Riesling wine and a sought-after Burgundy wine owe their matchless, full-bodied character to the excellent location of their 1.7. hectares of vineyards. Guests will have a sociable, good time in the cozy wine tavern inside the popular Spitzhäuschen, which - living up to its name - occupies only a very limited space od the historic market square of Bernkastel-Kues.

The family winery has been producing excellent wines for several generations, which owe their inimitable full-bodied characters to the typical steep vineyard slopes of the Moselle. The vines are trimmed and harvested exclusively by hand. Riesling-aficionados can tell from the taste that their main ambition is to create first-class wines. The delicious wines can be enjoyed in the cosy wine tavern of the famous Spitzhäuschen. Located directly on the historic market square, visitors are offered a selection of over 50 Riesling and red wines from their own vineyards. With your wine, you can have appetizers like the winemaker plate with sausages, ham and cheese. Discover and appreciate the benefits of this homely wine bar!
