The route is approximately 10 km long and classified as easy. With breaks, you should plan for 3-4 hours, with the path running along several places to stop for refreshments, and if desired, it can quickly become a pleasant day trip. The Moseltalweg is the only hiking trail in the wine culture hiking landscape Roman Wine Route that connects four winegrowing communities. Since the route has no major inclines, except for a small ascent to the Hinkelay vineyard near Detzem, it is also very suitable for families with children, and via the connecting path R17, it is linked to the Eurostrand Leiwen. The Moseltalweg is marked with “R 17”.
